Apples, Apples Everywhere!

The Fabulous First Graders in Mrs. Salcito's class have been learning about APPLES!

1. We celebrated Johnny Appleseed's Birthday on Monday 9/26
     a) We learned Johnny Appleseed's real name was John Chapman
     b) We learned that he introduced apple trees to a large part of the United States
     c) We learned that he loved animals
     d) We learned why he wore a pot on his head
     e) We learned that he would be over 200 years old today

2. We learned many facts about apples

3. We conducted a taste test using red, green, and yellow apples

4. We made number bonds and graphs with the data from our taste test

5. We cooked crockpot applesauce

6. We made hypothesis about apples and conducted experiments to see if our guesses were true or false
