Imagine It! Decodables

The SRA Imagine It! Decodables are designed to help students apply, review, and reinforce their growing knowledge of sound-spelling relationships. Each story incorporates phonics skills and high frequency words that have been previously learned. The primary purpose of these stories is to provide practice reading the words. Before each Decodable comes home with your child, they have been read 3-4 times in class. Your child may feel that these stories are too easy to read again once they come home, but I encourage you to have your child read each one aloud 1-2 more times for you to hear. This additional practice at home will not only reinforce the routines established in the classroom, but it will also help to build your child's confidence in reading.
